That’s one reason why 30 years ago I chose a career as a writer – not a photographer – to use words to make a difference.

I didn't start out as a writer...

No, I was planning a career as a marine geophysicist... then things changed. My passion was racing. And by chance, I discovered that writing about racing could support my racing and pay the bills. The rest is history... and by age 18, I was already the editor of a local newpaper.
